During a visit to the Émile Hermès collection, Annie Faivre found inspiration for these ornate ceremonial saddle pads, where nature is reimagined as a gateway to fantastical, dreamlike worlds. In this design, the artist plays with floral forms, rose windows, palmettes, and entwined branches—blending traditional weaving motifs into a poetic, decorative tapestry. At each corner of the scarf, you’ll find the croupelin, a rounded saddlecloth traditionally used on a horse’s lower back for festive occasions, adding a refined historical touch to this luxurious piece.
