The French animal painter Henri de Linarès, the artist behind the Plumes scarf designed in 1953, found new inspiration from birds and their plumage to give a different perspective to this composition. This time round, the quill feathers of red partridges, jays, pheasants, and snipes are arranged in circles within the square of the scarf. Each detail conveys the extraordinary lightness and subtle coloring of these feathers, which, from the way they are painted, seem as though they could fly away at the slightest breath. In 1952, along with the historian and storyteller Pierre-Louis Duchartre, Henri de Linarès founded the International Museum of Hunting in the Chateau de Gien, France.
