The Tropics, two ‘imaginary’ lines around the Earth, either side of the Equator. Geography is all about geometry. This carré is both: a carefully-structured composition and a celebration of the luxuriant flora and fabulous fauna of the tropics themselves. In the middle, a pair of toucans frolic on a branch. All around, multicoloured birds of paradise and their exotic cousins gaze out across other lands. The African savannah, home to zebra and giraffe, is dotted with baobabs.
