The Conservatoire des Creations Hermes, a private museum housing Hermes creations since the company’s very beginnings, is a treasure-trove of inspiration for its designers. From this collection, Virginie Jamin chose a vast array of belt buckles. Some date from the 1920s, while others are more recent, but each of them, from the simplest to the most elaborate, is remarkable for its bold geometry. Composing a square within the scarf, a path emerges, marked out by lines, shapes and colors. The eye cannot help but follow these rigorous lines into a tempting maze full of surprises.
